Seismic Performance Monitoring and Identification of Steel Storage Pallet Racks

Steel storage pallet racks are framed steel structures commonly used in the logistic field. According to European practice, they built with cold-formed profiles. Vertical and horizontal elements connected mechanical joints special for base connections. The design of these is usually performed by adopting ‘design testing’ approach. This procedure asks experimental characterization main components sub-assemblies, which allows identifying parameters needed safety checks development reliable FE models. Recent seismic events clearly showed need improvements knowledge response not only but also whole structure. As a contribution this topic, an study full-scale rack frames currently progress. At aim, testing set-up structures, maximum height 22 m, was designed realized. In paper, features results two push-over tests on commercial two-bay four-level described discussed. Finally, analyses presented.
